Just Stuff........

Here I am reporting for a new blog entry. Sadly, it's not really because I have anything much of interest to report. I am only doing it to relieve your weary eyes of my last posting which has been up for way too long!

It would seem that the long, dog days of summer are coming to an end since I am seeing more blog activity occurring, and I am happy to catch up with you all! I spent a couple of lonely weeks with no internet connection (due to the previous reported lightning strike), but as I told Julia on the phone the other day...our "Shonce" man settled up with us and we are now surfing along to our hearts' content!! For those of you with no southern roots connection, a "shonce" man is otherwise known as the "insurance man". My hubby was one of those for a couple of years in sweet home Alabama. He would hear them hollering to each other behind closed doors...." the Shonce man's heeer." Okay, enough of that trip down a humorous memory lane!

I have been busy doing bridal shower things. I hosted one in my home a couple of weeks ago, with a guest list of total strangers! That was a new experience...but overall it turned out very well. Got to meet Keri's soon-t0-be ma-in-law and sis-in-law. Very nice ladies. And met other friends of hers who will be in the wedding, etc . And then I attended another shower for her at Mom's church this weekend.

Also this weekend, we went to Indy for a very QUICK visit with Derek's parientos. Enjoyed our time with them; watched old home movies and read Derek's baby book which I had never seen before. I was shocked anew at how differently things are done now than they were in the 70's!

Well, I am embarrassed to say that I really don't have much to say. (wait, did that make sense?) I haven't really been feeling well.....maybe I'm in worse shape than I thought! When I can't spew forth sweet nothings, there might be something wrong! I think I'll just leave you with some pics instead.

Blessings on you all this week.

My menu: cucumber and chive tea sandwiches, mini ham n swiss frittatas, spinach dip w/parmesan breadsticks, strawberries with cream, and Coke w/Grenadine and cherries. (Keri hates punch!)

Chef Sophie: this is one of her FAVORITE playtime activities

Hey there, little lady! Welcome back. I enjoyed just getting caught up a bit on your life. You know, profundity can be a bit overrated at times. :) By the way, if I ever get married, feel free to plan the menu for my shower. Wow! I'm impressed. You made me hungry.

By the way, I would like to do better about getting together from time to time. Let me get through the maddness of the beginning of the school year, and then watch out!

From "shonce" man to Dricco, you have a man of many titles.
Looks like a beautiful shower. You're a good big sister.
We need to get Reagan and Dylan together before they're grown. They are two very "buff" young men.

Tara, I found your blog just here recently and have loved the update on your family. I am especially excited for Keri! Can you let me know what her wedding date is and what her address is? I would love to send her something. She still has a very special place in my heart even though I have not seen her in years!

Your children are beautiful! It looks like you are doing a great job being a mommy! Rachel Ehr

I know how you feel w/nothing to say, but if that really is true, then we need to pray HARD for you..I have full faith that there's still plenty of ideas in that brain!
Great to chat last week...see you DO have something to say..I believe we covered quite a few important topics:)

Thanks for the update. The shower pictures are beautiful, menu sounds wonderful.
I got a kick out of your "shonce man" story... especially since I am from Alabama. :-)

Marty, I went in and changed some personal info, etc. and set my blog to public. I've had some others bugging me to do the same thing..so there you have it! : )

Sonja: it would be my supreme honor to plan a bridal shower for you! You just let me know when!!

Kayla: I think our little "cabooses" are both buff per your new definition!! Poor little Reagan: we call him "fat boy" all the time. Of course, this is followed by...'you be for hour; you go home now; i call security.'. We're so weird.....

Rachel: I was so happy to hear from you!! My mom and Keri were both excited to see your msg as well. If you have an email address, I'd be happy to send you Keri's address. Her wedding date is Sept. 15. One month from today!
Also, I tried accessing your blog, but it still says it's set to private. BTW, Keri just started a blogspot acct; her address is www.worldofkeri.blogspot.com
How old are your kiddos now? I probably don't even wanna know! Derek and I have been married 11 yrs and Kristen was in the wedding, so she's probably a beautiful young lady now.
Hope to hear from you again.

Kimber: good to talk to you too!! And yes, perhaps I am seriously ill.

Kim M.: thought you'd like that story! Good 'old Alabam!

Tara, try my blog again because it should work now. Let me know if it doesn't. I have three teenagers at the moment, Keri is 18, Kristen is 16 and John is 13. I truly don't feel old enough to have kids that old (well maybe some days - but generally speaking)! : )

My email is jpehr@bellsouth.net.

Yes, it is very late and I will quite commenting!! But just noticed the new title..love it! And you definately are edifying in all you say and write..I appreciate it! And the title gives plenty of room for thought..how much really can we know about another from what we are "choosing" to share in this way..(glad we really DO know each other's hearts) and don't we all feel at times a little "on the outside"?
OK..enough philosiphying!
