Last Ditch Plea for Help!

Okay....I'm turning to the blogging community for some help. I'm at wits' end. (and not the one in Colorado) :)

About 8 yrs ago, Derek and I sang a duet in a cantata. Song was entitled "He Gave the Greatest Gift of All." My memory is SOOOOO bad that I can't remember the name of the cantata, the composer, or any of the lyrics to the verses! We still have a cassette of the track...with no demo. We remember the chorus, and remember that we really loved doing the song, and would like to do it again. But alas, all my search efforts are in vain. I can find nothing to suggest the song even exists!!

If any of you brilliant minds have some knowledge of the song, and would care to pass it on, I will consider you the hero of Christmas. :) Our little family is providing 45 minutes of Christmas music for the local Wesleyan Church next Sunday, and we sure would like to conclude with this one.

Feliz Navidad!

I found a Christmas cantata titled "The King of Who I Am" that had your song in it. It was a David Clydesdale presentation, created & arranged by David Scholl & published by Royal Tapestry Records in 1986. The songs in the cantata were Unto Us- Follow, Follow- Christ is Coming to This Earth Tonight- O Holy Night!- Glory to God- He Gave the Greatest Gift of All- You've Come to Claim the Heart- Follow the Star- Tapestry of Carols- The King of Who I Am.
Unfortunately I couldn't find any lyrics...but maybe this information will help you? Have a great day!

I found the lyrics but they appear to be in a different language. Does anyone have language translator software?

I don't know if this is the correct song but it carries the same title.

He gave the greatest gift of all

Greater than silver or gold

Greater than all, this whole world could offer

The gift of life for us all

He came to save the world from damnation

He spoke words of life

He became the sacrifice

So that we could be free

He gave his life for you and me.

He gave the greatest gift of all

Greater than silver or gold

Greater than all, this whole world could offer

The gift of life for all.

For God so loved the world

He gave his only son

As the Sacrificial lamb

He suffered and died for our Salvation

Who else could love me more than he

He gave the greatest gift of all

Greater than silver or gold

Greater than all

This whole world could offer

the gift of life for all

Though we were bound to sin, you and me

He brought deliverance, so that we could be free

Through Christ whatever problem occurs

We are over comers

We’re more than conquers, and freed

He gave the greatest gift of all

Greater than silver or gold

Greater than all this whole world could offer

The gift of life for all.

He gave the greatest gift of all.

Thank you gals, for your input! Jenn....you actually DID find the cantata! It was called "The King of Who I Am". So just having that info should be a big big help.

Anita, thanks so much for looking as well. Unfortunately, this is not the same song. I have been made aware of several songs by the same title. Thanks, anyway!
