First Days, Part One

I really want to share the things that have been going through my mind as these first days of the Obama Presidency are unfolding. But with a few sleepless nights under my belt due to kids being sick, I really don't have the energy to do justice to my rambling thoughts. Hopefully I can get some zzzz's and start journaling some things here.

I will say this, just in case anyone hasn't been paying attention to his first executive acts: he promised that he would make abortion funding and the signing the Freedom of Choice Act a priority, and already he's making good on that promise. He lifted a ban on funding for abortions overseas already. And you can bet there's more to come.

The thing that breaks my heart the most is just thinking of all the professed followers of Jesus who turned a blind eye to something that is so precious to the heart of God and His Son...and voted for this man in spite of it. Have mercy on us, Lord.

Well, so much for not sharing! Ha! You know me....

Blessings on you all for a wonderful weekend and Lord's Day!

I agree, Tara. It is such a slow fade, we don't even realize what's been and is still happening. We end up ensalving ourselves and can't imagine how we got there.
My heart is heavy these days as well. Maybe it is going to take real persecution in order for us to see the truth.

The whitehouse.gov has already been updated, too, with one of the main new things his voicing his support of the LGBT movement...

Maybe it will take persecution to revive the church in America again....why should we be any different from so many previous generations of believers....?

Charity, I am aware of this as well. I visited the White House on the web many times during the Bush administration. Already my visits in the last few days have felt like I'm in a different "place". Yes, it's true...Change has Come to America. :(

I also visited whitehouse.gov yesterday and then went to bed with a heavy heart. It is truly terrifying... thank the Lord we can have true *hope* in Him.
